Another reviewer bashed this dress, but I got it so inexpensively compared to other birthday-specific dresses I've looked at that I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try... and it was money well spent. The dress is very cute, and yes, while the fabric isn't the heftiest in the world (and the skirt portion isn't lined), it is comparable to many expensive boutique-brand dresses I have previously purchased for my daughter made with cute and unique but less hardy cotton fabrics. It's definitely not something you'd find at the "dollar store"! I wouldn't pay a huge amount for the dress (thirty dollars+ as the other reviewer did), but as I paid under half that on Amazon, I think it was a great deal for a limited-wear outfit. Also, I like that it doesn't actually say "Happy Birthday" or anything on it, so she could definitely wear it again. I will mention that the color was significantly brighter than I expected, more of a cotton candy pink than the baby pink it appeared to be on my computer screen. Also, it may be helpful to know that the bloomers are made of matching solid pink fabric that is 80% polyester/20% cotton (that fabric did seem cheaper, but again, they look cute), and the back panel is elasticized at the top and bottom to ensure a more precise fit. The dress ties in the back with the polka dot fabric.
